i'm seventeen

this clip is a little lengthy, but i couldn't help but think of this clip when i was mistaken as my 17 year old sister's identical twin the other day. if you want the condensed version, fast forward to the 5:00 mark.

my sister and i went to kirt's with my dad, when the lady helping us asked if we were sisters. the conversation went something like this:

"wow. are you two sisters?"
"yes."
"twins?"
"no."
"really? you're not identical twins?"
"nope."
"really?! which one of you is older?"
"um, i'm actually five years older."
"really?!"

at church the next day i was mistaken for my 17 year old sister herself. and also told that i still look like i'm 12 years old. then she corrected herself and said, "no not 12, i mean 18." phew! i would be a little worried if i could be mistaken for one of my beehives. being mistaken as a laurel is better. i guess. everyone says i will appreciate it when i'm older and to enjoy it... so i'm trying to take it as a compliment.

i don't know why i am shocked. this isn't the first time. usually when people find out i'm married they have a conniption. and when they find out i've been married for three years they about die and ask how old i am again. maybe i should start telling them i am 17. might be funny.

haha that's happened to me a few times before. In India, this lady was SHOCKED when we said we were married, and said Ben looked like he was 40 and I looked like I was 14! Yikes! Ben with a mustache does that, and me...I just look it to some people I guess!

Haha that hilarious! I get that a lot too...it does get annoying after a while. People think i'm way too young to have a child. They always ask now how old are you?

As soon as I saw the title of your post...my mind immediately flashed to Never Been Kissed. I was so pleased to find that we still think the same way! Does you being mistaken for Chubbs mean that you are home? Could you actually really only be 45 minutes away? Hilary, we must get together. We must.

Hehe! Horray for the NBK clip. One of my all-time favorite movies. Lame, I know!
I think when people ask, you SHOULD tell them you're 17. Then maybe suggest that you're from Colorado City and see what they do... :)

i'm on the other end of the spectrum...people always think i'm older than i am and that i'm older than my older sister....so from someone on the opposite end...take it as a compliment...because i hate people already thinking i'm older...

That is SO funny and I can totally relate. When I was pregnant with Madison people always looked at me with a disgusted look on their faces because I looked like a teenage pregnant girl...how sad, I don't get that young looking comment as much as I use too!
We miss you and hope everything is going great! Call me soon...the girls are dying to see you (me too)!

Yeah....that's what happens when you marry your mate at 19. Happened to me for years. In fact, I kindof wish it still happened.
