a little behind...

with the blogging... i've actually had things i've wanted to blog about lately, but can't seem to find the time to do it. but, thus is life. so forgive me, i'm jumbling a few things into one post.

we're almost done with school this semester!!! i have one more week of school, then finals. and we are counting down the days til jeff is finished with this semester. he has two more weeks before finals and then a month left of studying for the lovely boards. he takes them (the m.d. and d.o. tests) on june 11th and june 14th, so we will be celebrating come june 15th. we are very anxious to start his 3rd and 4th years of school. i've never seen my husband so excited and ready to be done with this semester, and let me tell you, he sure deserves it. he studies so much. every. single. day. medical school is pretty much like finals week x 10. every week. i don't think i even understand how much he studies and how much time he devotes to school. he is extremely dedicated, to say the least, and i'm lucky. i love him.

jeff and i both had birthdays this month. we're getting old. and it's starting to feel weird knowing that we met each other and started dating four years ago. maybe that's not that long, but time flies! i attempted to make a marbled cake for jeff. despite the fact that half of it fell right out of the pan while i was preparing it, it actually turned out lovely. if it weren't for jeff talking me through the whole thing... i was pretty much a nervous wreck and convinced it was ruined and would not turn out. but then it did and it was a hit. i always get my panties in a wad and jeff remains as calm as ever! geez. he balances me out.

the finished product

happy birthday jeff!

we had some friends over for the big event

last weekend i took a trip to utah and finally met fox henry burton, my new nephew. i love him. he is the sweetest baby and such a cute little man! i miss little foxworth so much already. i might have got baby hungry for a second. (shh, don't tell jeff.) then i remembered that motherhood is a permanent thing... and i'm not quite ready for that, yet. someday...

meet little fox:

he loves his mamma

just chillin' with favorite auntie hilly at chubb's cheer tryouts

blessing day

having a lil' conversation with auntie shelby

happy baby :)

now i'm all depressed because i had to say goodbye and leave family again. no just kidding. i'm doing fine. but it was a tearful departure, and believe it or not i really tried hard not to shed those tears. maybe some day i can do it without getting so emotional. geez! can't wait to come home in july. :)

Hey! Happy (late) B-day!! Your cake looks SOOO yummy! Teach me how to make it! Your apt. is so cute too! What a great little decorator you are (I knew you would be!) We live in the same layout and I think they are too small! What do you think? I bet it was so fun to see your family. It's so hard to be so far away from home, huh!

I think its funny you said you always get your panties in wad and jeff chills you out, because thats EXACTLY what brian does with me, if it weren't for him I would be in serious trouble! That cake was impressive, I love to cook, but baking is a little harder for me! When in July are you guys coming up? If I'm not in the hospital having the baby, we will have to take you guys out boating (surfing!) one day!

K I know everyone is saying it but I wish I had really sweet lines like, "I get my panties in a wad" wow if only I was that cool! I guess that's why I am friends with you, it balances a bit of my nerdiness out and I get a taste of being rad:) Katie and Cordelle are finally in residency and it seems like things are a lot easier now and they get more time together, so maybe that's something to look forward to... On a lighter note Katie is having twins!!! Craziness and I love it! What's even better is that we are moving close to them so I will definitely be their fav Auntie!
